Telecommunications in the 21st Century :
A Challenge for Operations Research
 
 
The organizing committee is pleased to announce that international specialists from telecommunications research units, academia and consulting have accepted to give lectures about their field of expertise and share their experience.
 
The topics that have been selected for presentation cover a large range of problems occurring in telecommunications and for which OR helps to determine good solutions. They concern network issues, including performance analysis, protection against failure, design, routing, mobile channel assignment, least cost management in a global networking environment, as well as other operational issues such as call ser-vicing center management. More information about the content of each presentation can be found in the abstracts on the following pages.
 
The Tutorial is organized as follows: Hotel Seepark, the conference site at the Lake of Thun, is a four-star hotel providing not only well equiped conference premises, but also pleasant accommodation for its guests, including facilities such as fitness room. sauna and whirlpool.
