IFORS XV in Beijing (August 16-20,1999)

The 1999 conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) will be held in Beijing, P.R.China. Beijing is a historical city which is quickly developing into a modern metropolitan city, and is well known for its gems of ancient Eastern civilization and its colorful modern activities. The Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace are some of the many sights for you to see during the conference.

Venue

The conference venue and accommodation will be arranged at the Beijing Friendship Hotel, one of the largest garden-style four-star hotels in Asia with a style of classic elegance. Situated in the northwest of Beijing city and half an hour from Beijing International Airport by taxi, it consists of five buildings, twenty-six restaurants with different style of cuisine serving authentic Chinese and Western foods, a golf driving range, a swimming pool with diving platforms, a billiards room, tennis courts, a health Center Sauna, bars and ballrooms. It has 1,900 rooms of various categories, all of which own private facilities. The Hotel has various multifunctional halls and meeting rooms(over sixteen parallel session rooms) with sophisticated facilities. It is an ideal place for conferences.
