ADVANCE NOTICE
OF A MEETING ON THE APPLICATION OF OPERATIONAL RESEARCH
IN THE HEALTH SERVICES

It is planned to hold a one-day conference on the use of Operational Research in Health Services during the Spring of 2001.

The conference will address how Operational Research can be used to tackle the major issues facing the providers of the health services in Switzerland and other countries. It is intended that both strategic and operational aspects will be covered. The main theme is currently under discussion and should be known soon.

ORP3 2001 - Operational Research Peripatetic Post-graduate Programme
a EURO conference for young researchers

WHAT IS ORP3 ?
ORP3 is not just another Conference on OR! ORP3 is the "EURO Peripatetic Post-graduate Programme", i.e. a new instrument of EURO designed for young OR researchers and practitioners. ORP3 aims at being a forum promoting scientific and social exchanges between the members of the future generation of Operational Researchers in academia and industry. ORP3 is an European peripatetic conference since each edition will be welcomed by a different laboratory from EURO. ORP3 is a post-graduate programme since the organisation of the conference entirely in the hands of young OR researchers. In particular, participants will act as chairperson and discussant.

WHO IS CONCERNED ?
If you are a PhD student or graduated within two years before deadline submission date or if you are an OR analyst with at most two years professional experience at deadline submission date, submit to ORP3 !
There is no imperative theme but papers dealing with LAMSADE main research themes: - combinatorial optimisation, - linear programming, - multiple criteria decision making, - interface between OR and AI, - real-world applications of OR are especially welcomed.

WHY SHOULD I SUBMIT ?
For publications : - Full refereed proceedings at http://www.orp3.com - Possible EJOR special issue (subject to the acceptance of the editors) for the best papers
For exchanges : - All sessions are plenary - Every speaker will be a discussant - Participants from all over Europe - All OR themes are welcomed - Enjoy Paris thanks to very special social events !
For training : - A limited number of participants (around 30 young speakers) - Special sessions (tutorial sessions and sessions devoted to Research Methodology and Philosophy) - LAMSADE concentrates specific competences and auspicious environment - speakers will also act as discussants
And because you can afford it : - Very low registration fees at 100 FF = 16 Euro a day, - Possibility of accommodation from 150 FF = 23 Euro to 300 FF = 46 Euro a night
